Forging ahead...

Continuing the recent surge to win over swing states, Michelle Obama will be in Colorado springs on Tuesday only two days after Senator Obama visited. Currently, RCP polls have Obama winning by 3.3% in Colorado, and the Obama camp is banking on the state to go blue on Nov. 4. In other news, Michelle encouraged all voters to get to the polls in the weekly Democratic radio address. "We can't look back and think about what might have been," she said. Obama is also slated to make a stop in New Mexico on Tuesday, and speak at a rally in Las Vegas, N.M. (not in swing state Nevada).

Cindy McCain has also continued her spate of visits, this week visiting Jacksonville, Florida. Also in the area was former candidate Rudy Guiliani, who is following Cindy McCain in her visits across Florida. The two were scheduled to go door to door and visit voters in West Palm Beach on Sunday. The McCain camp is trying to focus on must-win states in the week leading up to the election including Iowa. Earlier, the McCains paid a visit to Albuquerque.

Must-see Potential First Lady Moment of the Week: Forget the polls, the election has already been decided by the First Ladies. How? The election year Family Circle cookie recipe contest. The winner of the contest for the past four elections has gone on to be (or continued to be) the First Lady. This year,Cindy McCain's Oatmeal-Butterscotch cookies beat out Michelle Obama's shortbread cookies. While McCain has been reeling in the polls lately, he has surged recently and Cindy McCain's victory in the cookie contest may be just the push that the Republicans needed...

If I were a voter in Florida I am pretty sure that Cindy McCain at my door would not make me in anyway want to vote for her or give my support to John...however if i got my hands on some of those oatmeal-butterscotch cookies i might be able to be swayed and possibly vote for McCain in the upcoming election :)

I agree with Taylor...I heard that Cindy makes wicked Butterscotch cookies!

By the way, does McCain have Cindy campaigning by herself because he cannot trust Palin to do it? Jhon+My blog post about "Palin Goes Rogue" seems to suggest that McCain cannot trust her at all, given her current angst.

C is for cookie, and that's good enough for me. Is an endorsement from Cookie Monster coming up? (http://sanseverything.files.wordpress.com/2007/11/cookie-monster3.jpg)

I sit back thinking if Hillary were running what kind of cookies Bill would have to whip up. Im happy Cindy can make cookies, maybe it will cheer the people up at the losing party on election day.

It is interesting to see Michelle take Barack's place. After seeing her on John Stewart and in other appearances it seems that she is doing a fantastic job and adding to the campaign. Another strong first lady for the dems

Btw in the political dance-off John McCain raises his arms. Major error!

Speaking of cookie monster...I heard a rumor he was going to be changed to Carrot Monster, or Veggie Monster, to be more politcally correct and combat obesity. While this turned out to be false, he has been seen eating more healthy foods lately, as well as cookies. In an interview with Matt Lauer, Cookie Monster explained, "Why not fruit? It delicious! And healthy. Me still eat cookies, like me world famous for doing, but now me eat other things, too."
